To tell the story with real, beautiful simplicity...
David is a New Zealand director, writer and actor who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
David has been on sets since the age of 12 and it was here he developed his passion for telling stories. He has been directing since 2008 when he wrote and directed his first short film, "Where are the Angels?" in Los Angeles. His third short, "The Brightest Sunday" played in various festivals worldwide including an official selection at IndieFest USA in California.
David's background as an actor means he has a great vocabulary to communicate with actors and an ability to bring out in them a subtle and truthful performace. This combined with his unique eye makes for a full, exciting and entertaining end product.
David has had a varied education in story telling directing film, web-series, music video and documentary formats and is currently developing his first feature. He sights his influences as Kazan and Hitchcock and more contemporarily, Thomas McCarthy and the Duplass Brothers.
"David was incredible to work with and turned in a beautiful film. I cannot reccomend him highly enough"
- Tanner Bean, Producer (The Brightest Sunday)
"David took what I had on the page to a whole other level. I couldn't believe how happy I was with the episode "
- Katie Mathewson, Writer (Salon-O-Phobia)
